Robinhood event contracts and equities volumes hold near Q2 records
Robinhood Markets reported that average daily volumes across equities, options and event contracts held near record second-quarter levels. The platform's prediction markets business traded roughly 2.5 billion contracts in October, outpacing crypto trading. Options, stocks and its newer event contracts all grew fast last quarter. Robinhood moved early on AI-driven trading tools and has the most users actively engaged.
Robinhood's volume resilience matters because its entire prediction-market stack runs on partner infrastructure rather than a direct CFTC exchange license. The partner list spans Kalshi, Rothera, Crypto.com, and OG.com. Any contract dispute or regulatory action against one of them forces immediate volume migration with no internal fallback.
The CFTC's recent warning on American-style moneyline odds demands rapid redesign across all partners. Competitors with direct CFTC designations can now pitch stability to traders who weathered one August volume dip already. A single partner failure during NFL season would test whether Robinhood's prediction-market pricing holds. The platform must strengthen its regulatory footing before seasonal volume peaks.
Robinhood joins other partner-dependent retail platforms like Webull in leaning on Kalshi's CFTC-registered infrastructure, while direct-license holders such as Polymarket and Blockchain.com pitch operational stability.
