Polymarket signs as exclusive US prediction market partner for Serie A

Updated 17d ago

Polymarket signed a multiyear exclusive agreement with Serie A to become the official prediction market partner of Italy's top soccer league in the United States, announced May 15, 2026. The deal includes a shirt sponsorship with Serie A club Lazio and extends Polymarket's soccer-focused expansion following earlier 2026 partnerships with MLS and LaLiga. Polymarket founder and CEO Shayne Coplan said prediction markets give fans a way to actively interpret the game in real time. No financial terms were disclosed. Sports have become a leading driver of trading activity across prediction markets, and Polymarket has moved aggressively to capture that demand through official league-level partnerships in global football markets.

Why this matters?

Kalshi's simultaneous Interactive Brokers and Madison Square Garden deals give it integrated distribution and venue presence that Polymarket's Serie A rights alone cannot match. Polymarket must now secure parallel brokerage or sportsbook partnerships or risk losing US retail traders to Kalshi's single-interface model ahead of the NFL season.

The bigger picture

Becomes the third soccer-specific league partnership for a crypto-native prediction market platform this year, after Polymarket's deals with MLS and LaLiga, as Kalshi simultaneously builds arena and brokerage distribution across the U.S. market.
