Kalshi adds college football event contracts for VMI Keydets

Published Aug 19, 2026Updated 3d ago

Kalshi has added college football event contracts for the VMI Keydets, covering College Football Playoff odds, bowl game futures, and individual game markets on a team-specific landing page. The Cumberland, Maryland-based platform also lists Big Ten Championship winner markets and national championship futures. Ohio State and Notre Dame lead national-title pricing, while Ohio State, Oregon, and Indiana top the Big Ten board. The platform launched in 2021 and has become the most popular prediction market in the U.S.

Why this matters?

VMI Keydets contracts expand Kalshi's college football footprint but land in the same liquidity trap that haunts its NFL preseason lines. These are longshot markets on a small-conference team with thin fan and trader bases, so prices will drift on negligible volume. Retail players risk treating published percentages as sharp when they reflect sparse two-sided flow.

The listing feeds Kalshi's content pipeline for media partners and social campaigns, yet the gap between content reach and actual conversion keeps widening. Novig's $125 million first-week pace and Polymarket's stadium deals are pulling serious traders elsewhere. Kalshi must prove it can attract committed capital to these books, or it will keep winning attention while losing the users who actually trade.
