Kalshi traders price Alabama at 75% to beat Tennessee

Published Oct 17, 2026Updated 8h ago

Kalshi prediction-market traders have set the No. 6 Alabama Crimson Tide at 75% probability to win Saturday's road game against No. 14 Tennessee. The rivalry matchup, known as the 'Third Saturday in October,' kicks off at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday. Separately, Kalshi traders price No. 2 Notre Dame at 78% to win its top-10 game against No. 8 BYU at 7:30 p.m. ET. An affiliate guide also published instructions for first-time users on how to live trade the Alabama-Tennessee game on Kalshi and Polymarket.

Why this matters?

These Saturday college football lines are Kalshi's first major test of whether it can carry its NFL pricing credibility into the college tier where it holds unique CFTC clearance that sportsbooks lack. The Alabama and Notre Dame contracts trade in a week when state gambling rulings already stripped Kalshi's federal preemption shield in Ohio and Tennessee, the very states where these teams play. If local regulators treat broadcast-adjacent price quotes as consumer gambling promotion, Kalshi's college visibility becomes legal exposure.

The platform must now trade off brand growth against geofence risk: every mainstream citation of its college prices speeds adoption but also supplies evidence to attorneys general building state-gambling cases. DraftKings and Polymarket are both building competing sports stacks, and either could seize on a botched college quote or a state enforcement headline to attack Kalshi's reliability in the segment where it currently owns the regulated market alone.
