Gemini and Apex partner to distribute crypto event contracts to retail brokerages
Gemini and Apex Fintech Solutions have partnered to distribute crypto event contracts through Apex's brokerage network. Gemini Titan, which holds a CFTC Designated Contract Market license, will serve as the execution and clearing venue. Apex Clearing Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary, will handle routing for retail brokerage clients. The firms signed a letter of intent for the arrangement. The partnership could expand beyond initial crypto markets to other prediction-market categories.
Every brokerage on Apex's rails can now offer crypto event contracts without building its own compliance stack. That turns Gemini Titan from a licensed venue into a wholesale platform, and it pressures competing exchanges to secure similar distribution deals before Apex clients lock in. For Apex, the move deepens its crypto-native product suite beyond traditional spot and futures.
Brokerages face a supplier decision: plug into Gemini through Apex, or wait for rival venues like Kalshi or OG.com to match the integration. The first quarterly volume figures will reveal whether retail demand for crypto prediction markets is large enough to justify the infrastructure spend.
Joins a rush of infrastructure plays this quarter to connect prediction-market venues with brokerage distribution, after Alpaca's FCM registration and Trading Technologies' dual-venue setup with OG.com.
