Polymarket partners with Nasdaq Private Market for pre-IPO prediction contracts

Updated 10d ago

On Tuesday, May 19, Polymarket launched prediction markets tied to private-company milestones including SpaceX and Anthropic valuations, IPO timing, and secondary-market activity. The crypto-native platform partnered with Nasdaq Private Market, which will serve as the source of truth for resolving these pre-IPO contracts. Nasdaq's private-market data feed gives Polymarket authoritative settlement mechanics for events previously restricted to institutional or accredited users. Polymarket described the offering as a first and framed it as opening a $5 trillion private market to retail traders, expanding its contract types beyond political and macroeconomic events. John Conlon announced the institutional-level partnership in a LinkedIn post. Specific contract launch timing and trading mechanics were not disclosed.

Why this matters?

Kalshi must now match Polymarket's Nasdaq-backed data partnership or concede trader liquidity on AI-listing odds. The rival platforms are already running divergent OpenAI and Anthropic valuation markets.

The bigger picture

Adds Nasdaq to the three existing distribution partnerships — Kalshi with DraftKings and Robinhood, and Interactive Brokers with Kalshi-CME-ForecastEx — as major financial infrastructure firms race to embed prediction markets into mainstream trading stacks.
