Robinhood lists home sales and music streaming prediction markets
Robinhood listed two prediction markets through its Robinhood Derivatives unit on July 9 and July 11, 2026. A July 9 economics contract targets US existing home sales data for July 2026, resolving August 11. A July 11 culture contract asks whether Playboi Carti weekly streams will exceed 68 million. Both event contracts route through one of three exchange partners: KalshiEX, ForecastEX, or Rothera Exchange and Clearing.
Robinhood's dual launches show the brokerage is treating prediction markets as a General merchandise layer, not a niche experiment. The home sales contract brings macroeconomic event contracts to a retail audience that previously accessed housing data only through traditional equities or ETFs. The Playboi Carti stream threshold tests whether culture markets can repeat the engagement spike that Spotify's chart-driven contracts generated on Kalshi before that platform's settlement scandal.
For Rothera, Robinhood's captive exchange, every net-new vertical that flows through its pipes instead of KalshiEX or ForecastEX tightens vertical integration. Kalshi and ForecastEX remain essential infrastructure partners for now, but Robinhood's multi-exchange routing lets it shift volume silently based on terms or margin. Traders should note the home sales resolution date is fixed, while the streaming contract depends on third-party chart data that carries the same post-hoc revision risk that burned Kalshi.
