River Markets seeks institutional distribution role for OG.com and Crypto.com
River Markets is positioning itself as an institutional distribution partner for two platforms through a single trading interface governed by a memorandum of understanding, according to announcements dated October 20. The partners are OG.com, which supplies event contracts, and Crypto.com Exchange, which provides spot liquidity. River would contribute the trading interface and risk tools under the arrangement. The deal places River between a regulated prediction-market venue and a major crypto exchange.
River Markets is trying to become the institutional pipe that both OG.com and Crypto.com lack on their own. For OG.com, this means a separate path to professional traders that does not rely on Robinhood's partner-dependent stack. Robinhood holds equity in both OG.com and Crypto.com but routes NFL-season volume through multiple external platforms with no direct CFTC license. Piper Sandler projected $320 million in football-season revenue across that partner network.
Any volume that Crypto.com secures directly through River Markets shrinks the pool Robinhood can count on. The dual-track strategy, consumer through Predict Pro and institutional through OG.com, turns a supplier into a competitor across both segments. River's success would validate the prediction-market distribution layer as a standalone business, while failure would confirm that institutional traders still prefer direct exchange access.
