Kalshi prices Real Madrid at 79% to beat Sevilla as Sevilla draws heavier trading volume
Kalshi's soccer prediction market is pricing Real Madrid at 79 cents, or roughly 79% probability, to defeat Sevilla in an upcoming match. The draw is priced at 13-14 cents and Sevilla at 8-9 cents. Despite the lopsided odds favoring Madrid, Sevilla has drawn the most trading activity with approximately 1.85 million contracts traded versus roughly 887,000 on Madrid. The event is scheduled for October 18, 2026. Separately, Polymarket traders are pricing FC Barcelona at 65.5% to defeat Real Madrid in the October 25 El Clásico.
Kalshi's soccer pricing follows the same pattern as its NFL and college football markets: lopsided odds that mirror sportsbook lines, with heavy volume piling onto the underdog rather than the favorite. That flow pattern exposes a structural problem. Price-sensitive traders see no edge in Kalshi's posted prices, so the order book becomes a speculation venue for longshot seekers rather than a genuine two-way market. Citizens Bank flagged this same issue by NFL Week 3, and now soccer replicates it.
Kalshi's 76% NFL volume lead, per Needham, rests on FanDuel's market-making partnership — liquidity Kalshi does not control. If FanDuel revokes or renegotiates that bridge, Kalshi lacks a ready replacement. Soccer season gives Kalshi a fresh test case to solve this before mid-season. Without independent liquidity, every viral odds snapshot risks becoming marketing pageantry that serious traders dismiss. Kalshi's sports volume is now cross-sport and cross-league enough that its prices are becoming a standalone content layer.
