Oddpool raises $3M seed, then joins Kalshi

Published Sep 5, 2026Updated 2h ago

Oddpool, a prediction-market data infrastructure startup, raised $3 million in a seed round announced in September 2026. The startup has since joined Kalshi. The two-tier funding and hiring move follows Kalshi's recent partnership push with Alpaca for brokerage distribution and The Weather Company for weather data. Neither source disclosed Oddpool's exact role or whether Kalshi acquired the team outright. The deal is the latest in a run of infrastructure bets by the regulated prediction market platform.

Why this matters?

Oddpool's data infrastructure specialty plugs directly into Kalshi's weakest link. The platform has spent 2026 racing to match Polymarket's content breadth through Sportradar-style deals and TT venue integrations, but raw market data pipelines remain a bottleneck for settlement speed and pricing accuracy. Oddpool in-house gives Kalshi control over its own data stack rather than licensing third-party feeds for every new vertical.

That matters because Kalshi's weather and sports expansion plans depend on clean, fast settlement data at scale. Kalshi partners with Alpaca to push event contracts through global brokerage pipes showed distribution ambition; Oddpool shows backend execution. The risk is integration speed: Kalshi must fold Oddpool's systems into live trading infrastructure without disrupting existing markets, a task that has stalled other fintech acquirers.
