Goldman Sachs lifts Robinhood price target to $137 on prediction market surge
Goldman Sachs raised its price target on Robinhood Markets to $137 and maintained a buy rating, citing record trading volumes driven by prediction markets and event contracts. The bank pointed to surging volumes in event contracts as a key growth driver for the platform in recent months. The upgrade reflects bullish momentum on Robinhood's expansion beyond traditional trading into regulated prediction-market products.
Robinhood now has an analyst upgrade pinning growth to the prediction-market revenue line. The $137 target gives institutional investors a benchmark for valuing event contracts. That validation matters because Robinhood is executing a vertical-integration play through its Rothera joint venture that threatens to displace KalshiEx and ForecastEx as its liquidity sources. The faster Robinhood's own exchange infrastructure matures, the sooner it can internalize the economics rivals now collect.
For Kalshi and ForecastEx, every dollar of Robinhood revenue they power is a dollar that funds their eventual replacement. The endorsement also arrives as regulators weigh restrictions on sports event contracts that would hit CFTC-registered venues. Robinhood's diversified macro and political product mix may shield it better than sports-heavy rivals if restrictions advance. The platforms feeding Robinhood today must build alternative distribution or accept margin compression from a customer becoming a competitor.
