Gate adds SOL and XRP price-direction event contracts
Gate has added SOL and XRP price-direction event contracts to its Event Contracts lineup, with trading available across short timeframes including 5-minute intervals. The crypto exchange continues building out its event-contract product suite for short-term crypto price speculation. Separately, Gate.com published an explainer on how its event market prices are determined for call and put positions, aimed at retail users.
Gate's 5-minute SOL and XRP contracts place it directly against Robinhood's 15-minute crypto markets in the race for active-trader engagement. Retail speculators now have two venue speeds to choose from on the same tokens, and Gate's shorter intervals may peel away traders who want faster feedback loops.
The move raises the competitive floor: any platform without sub-15-minute crypto resolution looks sluggish by comparison. For Kalshi, still building Bitcoin perpetual futures volume and lacking visible share data, this heat compounds the pressure. The platform that settles most credibly at the tightest time horizon will capture the repeat-bet flow that makes prediction-market economics work.
Robinhood, Kalshi, and rival crypto exchanges Robinhood rolls out 15-minute SOL contract alongside new BTC and HYPE markets this month, making SOL among the most contested tokens in short-horizon prediction markets as platforms race to 15-minute resolution speeds.
