Polymarket extends Chainlink oracle deal and launches gold and silver trading
Polymarket deepened its partnership with Chainlink on October 30, 2026, making the oracle network the official data provider for its high-speed up/down markets. The expanded integration will support faster-settling 15-minute event contracts beyond crypto into additional asset categories. Polymarket also launched trading contracts for gold and silver, extending the same rapid-settlement format to precious metals. The partnership expansion builds on Chainlink having already powered more than $11 billion in trading volume for Polymarket.
Polymarket's precious-metals launch puts it in direct competition with Kalshi's December CPI futures for institutional attention. Both platforms are racing to prove that regulated event contracts can capture volume from traditional commodity and macro hedging instruments. The 15-minute settlement format matters because it narrows the gap between prediction markets and perpetual futures, the product Kalshi is pivoting toward at its $40 billion valuation.
For Polymarket, the Chainlink integration provides a latency edge that manual or slower oracle feeds cannot match; if gold and silver volume proves sticky, the same infrastructure scales to energy and rates markets without new vendor negotiation. Institutional desks evaluating both platforms now have a direct comparison point: Kalshi's multi-broker distribution through CQG and Tradeweb versus Polymarket's speed advantage on short-dated contracts. The platform that demonstrates deeper liquidity in Q1 will shape which model venture capital and potential public-market investors favor for the sector's next funding cycle.
