Kalshi esports volume hits $1.73 billion in twelve months as platform-wide records extend
Kalshi esports event-contract volume reached $1.73 billion over a twelve-month period, according to data from the regulated prediction market. The category had traded less than $0.4 million in any month before October 2025. It surged to a peak of $391 million in August 2026. Separately, Kalshi drew $21.5 billion in total trading volume in the week ending October 18. This marked the 10th consecutive week of record volume. Total trades on the platform crossed 100 million.
The $1.73 billion esports figure reveals a new, durable revenue stream for Kalshi beyond its political and sports-contract core. Esports had been a rounding error; it is now a top-three category pulling in institutional-sized flows. That shift matters because Kalshi's competitors — Polymarket, DraftKings, CME Group — are all building sports and event-contract stacks, but none have matched the esports acceleration.
The 100 million cumulative trade count shows retail engagement depth, not just whale-driven notional. Kalshi must now decide whether to carve out dedicated esports market-makers or let natural liquidity fray. The first platform to offer liquid secondary markets on esports contracts will own the category as it matures, and Kalshi's twelve-month lead gives it pole position.
Kalshi's esports surge joins political and CFP markets already drawing mainstream media citation, placing the platform at the center of regulated prediction-market growth across three distinct verticals this year.
