Kalshi founders spotlight prediction markets in Bloomberg profile and Economic Club speech

Published Oct 28, 2026

Kalshi co-founders Tarek Mansour and Luana Lopes Lara took their platform's story to two mainstream stages this week. Mansour addressed the Economic Club of New York on October 27, 2026, as head of the CFTC-regulated prediction market. Separately, Bloomberg published a video profile in which host Emily Chang toured New York with Mansour, framing Kalshi as the biggest prediction market in the US. The pieces also profiled the founders' personal history dating at MIT and their disciplined company culture.

Why this matters?

Kalshi is borrowing credibility from established financial institutions rather than building it from scratch. The Economic Club of New York typically hosts Fortune 500 CEOs and Federal Reserve chairs; a prediction-market founder on that podium signals the platform has crossed from startup curiosity to mainstream financial conversation. The Bloomberg video treatment does similar work for retail audiences who confuse event contracts with offshore betting.

Both appearances come at a moment when state attorneys general are suing Kalshi and the Supreme Court may yet take up federal preemption. Credibility with institutional and policy audiences is not vanity. It is defensive capital that Kalshi can deploy in courtrooms and regulatory filings where its competitors cannot. Polymarket lacks this mainstream access; Robinhood already owns its own credibility layer. Kalshi must build it person by person, speech by speech.
