Kalshi adds My Ballot feature to 2026 Midterms Hub
Kalshi has launched My Ballot, a personalized ballot guide integrated into its 2026 Midterms Hub. The feature uses Ballotpedia data to match voters with their local races and displays associated market odds where available. Users connect their location to Ballotpedia's election database to see which contests appear on their own ballots. Kalshi has said the hub attracts mostly non-traders, positioning the tool as an on-ramp for politically curious visitors rather than existing participants.
Kalshi is converting Ballotpedia's data into a voter acquisition tool at the exact moment prediction markets face political backlash. The platform needs to grow its user base beyond traders to justify its CBS News partnership and midterm investment. Each non-trader who checks their ballot odds becomes a potential account holder, deepening liquidity for political event contracts.
The risk is the same audience expansion: a Reuters/Ipsos poll shows 60% of Americans oppose election betting, and familiar tools can turn neutral voters into complainants. ProphetX is already competing on Senate and governor race payouts, so Kalshi's conversion window is narrow. If mainstream tools attract regulators rather than traders, Kalshi becomes the enforcement test case that locks competitors out of political markets entirely.
Kalshi's third midterm product release in just over a week — after Brier scores and real-time feeds, now My Ballot — shows the platform racing to build voter-facing infrastructure before competitors close the gap.
