Flutter commits $300 million to expand FanDuel Predicts before 2026 World Cup

Published Jun 16, 2026 Updated 27h ago

Flutter Entertainment has committed approximately $300 million to expand its FanDuel Predicts prediction market platform ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, according to a Wedbush analyst note. Wedbush initiated coverage on Flutter with an outperform rating, citing the investment as part of the company's strategy to strengthen its competitive position in event contracts. The expansion funding arrives as sportsbook-linked prediction markets compete for liquidity and user acquisition before the global tournament opens. FanDuel Predicts recently added Crypto.com's OG as a second exchange partner, broadening its liquidity sources beyond CME Group. The $300 million commitment represents one of the largest disclosed capital allocations by a traditional sportsbook operator into the regulated prediction markets space.

Why this matters?

The $300 million commitment gives FanDuel Predicts the war chest to outspend DraftKings Predictions and Robinhood on World Cup liquidity and marketing before kickoff. Any failure to convert that spend into volume leadership will leave Flutter exposed to shareholder scrutiny while rivals scale.
