Vince Vaughn’s Nonnas has impressively kept its top spot on the Netflix movie charts last week, and the new docuseries American Manhunt: Osama bin Laden conquered the television chart. This week doesn’t have as many new additions as previous weeks in May, but features a small collection of strong contenders. If you’d like to trade on which projects will conquer this week’s top 10 movies and TV shows, you can do so on the popular prediction platform Kalshi.

Here’s what you need to know before you start trading on Netflix’s top movies and TV shows.

What happened last week in TV (Top 10 shows)

  1. American Manhunt: Osama bin Laden (Season 1)
  2. Forever (Season 1)
  3. Bad Thoughts (Season 1)
  4. Fred and Rose West: A British Horror Story (Limited Series)
  5. The Four Seasons (Season 1)
  6. Secrets We Keep (Limited Series)
  7. Raw: 2025 – May 12, 2025
  8. Ms. Rachel (Season 1)
  9. All American (Season 7)
  10. You (Season 5)

Top US Netflix TV show this week?

The Four Seasons fell to No. 5 on the Netflix Top 10 chart, while Forever maintained a strong spot at the runner-up position. The new docu-series American Manhunt: Osama bin Laden reached the peak, but this week is filled with strong contenders: Sirens, She the People, Sneaky Links: Dating After Dark, and Sarah Silverman’s latest comedy special, Postmortem. However, it will be challenging to overcome the still-popular American Manhunt: Osama bin Laden.

Sirens (Limited Series)

  • Release Date: Thursday, May 22, 2025
  • Runtime: 5 episodes — about 60 minutes each

Sirens is Netflix’s latest dark comedy limited series, featuring a star-studded cast including Meghann Fahy, Julianne Moore, and Kevin Bacon. The series is based on Molly Smith Metzler’s 2011 play Elemeno Pea. Fahy starred in last year’s popular limited series The Perfect Couple featuring Nicole Kidman, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if this series performs equally well and tops this week’s chart.

She The People (Season 1 - Part 1)

  • Release Date: Thursday, May 22, 2025
  • Runtime: 8 out of 16 episodes – N/A runtime

She the People is Tyler Perry’s latest series for Netflix, following Beauty in Black, which topped the Netflix charts when it was released. Perry is a prolific creator, and his work has resonated and performed well in the past. Compared to Sirens, the cast features fewer widely known actors, which may decrease its chances of reaching the top.

Sarah Silverman: Postmortem (2025)

  • Release Date: Tuesday, May 20, 2025
  • Runtime: 63 minutes

Sarah Silverman is back with her newest comedy special, Postmortem. Silverman’s last special was for HBO back in 2023. It was well-reviewed, but the exact viewership wasn’t revealed. While Silverman is popular, it is unlikely she will top the charts unless her special features something controversial that would lead to the special reach virality.

Sneaky Links: Dating After Dark (Season 1)

  • Release Date: Wednesday, May 21, 2025
  • Runtime: 10 episodes – about 60 minutes each

Sneaky Links: Dating After Dark is Netflix’s latest dating show, and their past shows have been extremely popular. From Love is Blind to Too Hot To Handle, these dating shows have stayed at the top of the charts for multiple weeks and performed very well. If Sneaky Links: Dating After Dark is able to capture the right audience, it can reach higher numbers on the Netflix chart.

What happened last week in movies (Top 10 movies)

  1. Nonnas
  2. A Deadly American Marriage
  3. Instant Family
  4. Home
  5. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice
  6. Untold: The Liver King
  7. Twilight
  8. Despicable Me 4
  9. Bad Influence
  10. Paddington in Peru

Top US Netflix movie this week?

Vince Vaughn’s Nonnas is at the top of the charts for the second week in a row. Instant Family has shot up and has been No. 1 in the first couple of days of the new week, which may put up a fight against the new additions from this week.

Fear Street: Prom Queen (2025)

  • Release Date: Friday, May 23, 2025
  • Runtime: 88 minutes

Based on R.L. Stine’s horror fiction series, Fear Street: Prom Queen is Netflix’s fourth adaptation of the series. The previous films were released as part of a trilogy, all released a week apart. The three movies performed well, appearing at the top of the Netflix charts. The fourth film can potentially do well, but it may face difficult competition this week.

The Wild Robot (2024)

  • Release Date: Saturday, May 24, 2025
  • Runtime: 102 minutes

Oscar-nominated and universally acclaimed, The Wild Robot is joining Netflix this week. The film was a beloved favorite of 2024 and won many of the top awards in the last award circuit. This combination can launch a movie to the top of the charts, but given it’s only being released on Saturday, it may have difficulty becoming the No. 1 film for the entire week.

Untold: The Fall of Favre (2025)

  • Release Date: Tuesday, May 20, 2025
  • Runtime: 63 minutes

Last week’s Untold: The Liver King reached the No. 6 spot on Netflix. This time, the sports documentary series will focus on football quarterback Brett Favre’s controversies. Given the controversies and the early release date, it may perform well, but it faces very strong competition this week.

Air Force Elite: Thunderbirds (2025)

Release Date: Friday, May 23, 2025

Runtime: N/A

Air Force Elite: Thunderbirds is Netflix’s documentary about the U.S. Air Force’s famous flight squadron, the Thunderbirds. It follows the team’s training and their sacrifices. This has an appeal for people who enjoy learning about the military, documentaries, and planes. This combination covers a wide variety of demographics and could catch a large audience.
