Underdog launches standalone prediction market exchange UDX
Underdog has launched its own in-house prediction market exchange, UDX, the company announced Saturday. The daily fantasy sports operator previously routed trades through third-party platforms but now runs its wholly-owned venue. Underdog's new product avoids certain states, taking a more cautious geographic approach than some competitors. The move comes almost a year after Underdog first began offering prediction markets trading.
Underdog's UDX removes the last third-party rails from its prediction markets stack. The company no longer depends on Kalshi or Crypto.com's Derivatives North platform to clear trades. That gives Underdog direct control over fees, liquidity, and compliance posture. For Kalshi and Crypto.com, it is another lost revenue line at a moment when both face rising state legal pressure and a federal ban threat.
Underdog's $6.5 billion volume base gives the new exchange immediate scale. The move tests whether a fantasy-sports origin platform can hold spreads and liquidity against established CFTC-registered venues when the NFL season opens. DraftKings made the same vertical leap days earlier; the race is now on to prove in-house infrastructure can match dedicated exchange quality.
