Underdog deploys Eventus Validus platform for trade surveillance
Underdog has deployed the Eventus Validus platform for external trade surveillance across its prediction markets. The third-party monitoring system, already used by traditional exchanges, broker-dealers, and futures commission merchants, is now actively screening trading activity on Underdog's platform. Novig has also adopted the Eventus platform. Kalshi separately added external surveillance technology from Solidus Labs.
Underdog's surveillance deployment shows prediction-market operators are buying the same compliance infrastructure that traditional exchanges use. That matters because CFTC-registered venues like Kalshi already face federal oversight, and competitors without it must self-police or risk falling behind on credibility. For Underdog specifically, third-party monitoring bolsters its newly licensed DCM when pitching institutional market makers.
The bet is that external validation reassures traders who otherwise fear manipulation on less mature platforms. If surveillance becomes table stakes, every prediction-market startup faces a new cost layer before it can scale volume. Underdog is absorbing that cost early, but the payoff depends on whether traders actually weigh surveillance quality when choosing where to bet. The platforms that prove it first may turn compliance into a marketing edge rather than a back-office burden.
Underdog becomes the second prediction-market operator to bolster surveillance infrastructure this week, following Kalshi's brokerage integrations that put event contracts inside mainstream trading accounts.
