Polymarket's Panama HQ is a shared law office with FTX ties, no staff found

Updated 18d ago

An NPR investigation found that Polymarket's claimed Panama headquarters on the 21st floor of the Oceania Business Plaza is difficult to locate and appears to be a shared law office rather than a functioning corporate headquarters. More than a dozen other crypto companies list the same address, and Panamanian government documents show Polymarket registered there under its corporate name through a law firm with reported FTX ties. No trace of the prediction market platform was found at the location. The crypto-native prediction market was shut down by U.S. regulators in 2022 and re-opened in Panama, where it has benefited from tax and legal advantages.

Why this matters?

Polymarket's push for U.S. regulatory approval now requires explaining why its claimed headquarters lacks employees, operations, or a distinguishable presence beyond a mailbox shared with failed crypto firms.
