Kalshi enlists Messi and Chalamet in celebrity ad push

Published Jun 19, 2026Updated 40d ago

Kalshi has recruited celebrities Lionel Messi and Timothée Chalamet for a marketing campaign aimed at broadening its brand beyond political trading. The platform, which gained traction during the 2024 presidential election, is deploying celebrity endorsements to attract mainstream users as competition among prediction market platforms intensifies. The campaign builds on Kalshi's existing work with Chalamet. The move comes as Kalshi faces pressure to rebuild its retail flow pipeline amid Robinhood's Rothera capturing some World Cup contracts and the arrival of institutional market-making desks at major trading firms.

Why this matters?

Kalshi must now convert celebrity-driven brand awareness into actual trading volume without relying on Robinhood's retail pipeline. Any gap between ad impressions and funded accounts will leave the platform exposed as institutional desks tighten spreads but do not replace lost consumer flow.
