Kalshi opens 2027 NFL Draft #1 pick market with Jeremiah Smith at 29%
Kalshi has listed a prediction market on the first overall pick of the 2027 NFL Draft. Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith leads the odds at 29%, followed by Drew Mestemaker at 21%, Arch Manning at 15%, and CJ Carr at 14%. The market appears on Kalshi's sports-focused account, KalshiSports. The listing comes days after Kalshi Sports posted Heisman Trophy odds showing Arch Manning at 1%, with Jeremiah Smith at 14%.
Kalshi is expanding its sports contract roster from live matchups and awards into multi-year draft futures. That stretch tests whether its trader base will commit money to markets that will not resolve for eighteen months. The platform's volume lead in NFL single-game markets is already under pressure from thinner pricing and rival venues.
Long-dated draft markets compound that risk because they demand even deeper locked-in liquidity to keep odds stable across news cycles. FanDuel's market-maker support gives Kalshi a temporary buffer, but DraftKings and Polymarket are both building competing sports contract stacks. Kalshi cannot hold tight lines on these futures, traders will park risk elsewhere and the platform's sports growth narrative weakens before the draft even arrives.
