Kalshi offers contracts on further Trump administration departures
Kalshi opened or expanded prediction markets on which Trump administration officials will exit next. The contracts follow the departure of press secretary Katie Zacharia after five days. The markets extend a run of politically sensitive tenure contracts that have drawn regulatory and congressional scrutiny for possible insider trading.
Kalshi's new departure contracts arrive while the platform is already under CFTC and House Oversight investigation for suspicious pre-announcement trading on political personnel moves. Each additional high-profile tenure market increases the surveillance burden on a system that already missed 55-to-1 returns on the Zacharia appointment.
Traders face thin liquidity and wide cross-venue spreads with no hedge available. A second insider-trading miss on these departure markets would give Congress a concrete case for mandatory surveillance legislation that every CFTC-registered exchange would then need to fund. Kalshi's compliance trajectory is being set by political contracts it cannot easily delist without sacrificing volume.
