Fanatics combines sportsbook, casino and prediction markets into single app

Published Sep 2, 2026Updated 2h ago

Fanatics is merging its sportsbook, casino and prediction markets into a single app, Fanatics Betting and Gaming CEO Matt King told Axios. The company launched Fanatics Markets in December 2025 for event contracts. The initial market infrastructure ran on Crypto.com's federally regulated platform. The consolidation brings all wagering products under one platform. King positioned the move as a user-experience play that removes friction between sportsbook, casino and prediction-market verticals.

Why this matters?

Fanatics is betting that bundling prediction markets with its existing sportsbook and casino base delivers cheaper user acquisition than standalone platforms like Kalshi or Polymarket can manage. Every sportsbook customer becomes a zero-cost prospect for event contracts, cutting the marketing spend that consumes standalone venues.

The catch is infrastructure dependence: Fanatics Markets initially ran on Crypto.com's regulated stack, the same white-label path High Roller chose through its ROLR app and mrkts.com partnership. That leaves Fanatics without direct CFTC designation, exposing its prediction-market arm to any operational or regulatory disruption at Crypto.com. Rivals with their own licenses can argue that only full control protects traders, but Fanatics' built-in audience may prove volume matters more than regulatory independence.

The bigger picture

Fanatics joins High Roller and Markets in relying on third-party CFTC licensing rather than pursuing direct designation, solidifying Crypto.com Derivatives North America as the default regulatory shortcut for prediction-market entrants.
