Polymarket Becomes Dow Jones’ Official Prediction Market Partner

Crypto prediction market Polymarket announced that it was becoming the official prediction market platform for Dow Jones on Wednesday. Dow Jones owns publications including the Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, and MarketWatch.
Polymarket’s data will be available on publication home pages and throughout news stories. Dow Jones will also introduce “a custom earnings calendar highlighting market-implied expectations around corporate performance” based on Polymarket’s prices.
“We’re making prediction markets data accessible to our users, because it’s a rapidly growing source of real-time insight into collective beliefs about future events,” said Almar Latour, CEO of Dow Jones and Publisher of The Wall Street Journal.
Media cozying up to prediction markets
Polymarket is the latest prediction market platform to ink major partnership deals with mainstream media sources. At the end of 2025, Kalshi secured partnerships with CNN and CNBC. Media companies are increasingly drawn to the aggregated crowd wisdom that the prediction market industry is infatuated with.
“This partnership combines journalistic insight with real-time market probabilities – including the most-watched business news like public company earnings reports – to create a truly comprehensive news experience for readers,” Polymarket CEO Shayne Coplan said.
As journalists and news companies use prediction markets, they’ll also have to develop prediction market literacy and learn which markets are useful.
Looking ahead to the midterms and beyond
One of the biggest mainstream events for prediction markets was the 2024 presidential election. Prediction markets offered forecasts in real time, which made Trump’s victory clear hours before AP News called the race.
That doesn’t mean that polling or journalism are obsolete. However, that speed and cost-effective crowdsourcing are attractive features for media outlets following the races on election night.
Media sources have positioned themselves to call election results more quickly ahead of the 2026 midterms, the second election cycle with regulated prediction markets.
Politics isn’t the only application for prediction markets. Sports, entertainment, and even weather broadcasts have relevant prediction markets available should they want them. There remains potential for new large media partnerships leading up to the midterms and well beyond them.
