Prediction market platform Kalshi has a new spokesperson. Legendary poker player Daniel Negreanu appears in new videos shared on Kalshi’s social media pages promoting a special sign-up bonus for new players and a drawing for a World Series of Poker prize package.
The partnership elicited an extensive post from Kalshi co-founder and CEO Tarek Mansour, who says Negreanu’s underdog story mirrors “Kalshi’s fight for prediction markets” and his expert ability to find an edge to win resembles the efforts of Kalshi traders.
“We have failed and been rejected more times than I can remember, but we did not waver in our commitment to the vision,” Mansour writes. “Expand the world of financial markets, no matter the cost, no matter the hardship.”

CEO says poker champ’s perseverance similar to Kalshi’s rise
In his posts about the partnership on X and LinkedIn, Mansour shared Negreanu’s story, from his humble beginnings in Toronto to his early failures as a professional poker player in Las Vegas at the age of 21.
“The dream collapsed quickly. He lost his bankroll, got chewed up by pros, and was forced to crawl back to Toronto broke. But, he didn’t give up. He locked in, studied harder, rebuilt his roll and came back,” Mansour writes. “Then he lost it all again… This cycle repeated — win small, lose big, retreat, rebuild. Each failure threatened to bury him, but each time he returned sharper, more disciplined, more determined.”
At 23, Negreanu won his first World Series of Poker, becoming the youngest winner in the history of the tournament and earning the nickname “Kid Poker.” Negreanu has since won seven WSOP bracelets, a pair of World Poker Tour titles, and induction into the Poker Hall of Fame in Las Vegas, as well as more than $50 million in winnings.
Mansour says it was a “no-brainer” to partner with Negreanu, as he encapsulates “the idea that anybody can make it in life if they find their competitive edge.”
“There are tons of parallels (in Negreanu’s story) to Kalshi traders: our users know a lot about the world, and whether it’s politics, or culture, or economics, or even weather… they have figured out a way to get rewarded for their knowledge, sometimes to the tune of millions of dollars a year,” Mansour adds. “It has been an honor seeing our community turn a hobby into a living.”

Negreanu offers ideas for poker-related prediction markets
Negreanu’s first duty as a Kalshi spokesperson is promoting a sign-up offer that gives new users a $40 bonus when using a special promo code.
New traders who sign up using the code will also be entered into a drawing in which the winner receives a $30,000 prize package for the WSOP Paradise 2025 tournament in the Bahamas this December. Along with a 9-night stay at The Royal at Atlantis resort, the prize also includes a $26,000 entry for WSOP Paradise’s Super Main Event.
In an interview with pokernews.com, Negreanu said he has been a longtime trader at Kalshi and has been talking with the platform about “how I could potentially help grow Kalshi and whatnot.”
While Kalshi currently doesn’t have any poker-related markets, Negreanu said he’d like to see them added.
“What do poker players like to do? We like to make prop bets on a wide variety of different goofy markets that we come up with, right?,” the poker champ said. “There’s nothing up there right now (related to poker), but one of the things I thought about was where we discussed maybe some cool poker markets, right?”
Negreanu offered a potential market for “Will GGPoker hit the guarantee in its Super Main Event?” as an example of the types of poker trades Kalshi could offer.
Negreanu deal is latest Kalshi partnership with celebrities and influencers
Kalshi continues to enter partnerships with influencers and spokespeople from a wide range of sectors to promote the prediction platform and entice new traders to join. Competitive eating legend Joey Chestnut, for example, was enlisted to promote Kalshi’s markets for this year’s Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest, helping them attract over $8 million in trading volume.
Mansour has yet to post as extensively about a new Kalshi spokesperson as he did for Negreanu. But the CEO did recently post about Kalshi’s new partnership with FOX Sports’ NFL on FOX pre-game show. Mansour shared a clip of FOX analyst and former NFL quarterback Mark Sanchez talking with current Los Angeles Chargers QB Justin Herbert about Kalshi’s market for who will perform at the next Super Bowl halftime show on Sanchez’s online FOX show, Rearview.
