Tanner is a writer and research assistant covering prediction markets with a focus on political markets. Tanner first became interested in prediction markets while interning in Washington, D.C., where he noticed people trading “yes” shares on a government shutdown as a hedge against not receiving their stipends. Tanner is particularly interested in the potential of prediction markets to hedge real-world risks and serve practical purposes in politics. Before joining Prediction News, Tanner worked on electoral campaigns in 2023 and 2024 leading up to the general election.
