We may have not quite reached Robocop levels of policing — if you haven’t heard the story about actor Peter Weller, who played the titular Robocop, and Oreos on the set, I implore you to look it up — but that doesn’t mean law enforcement agencies are shying away from integrating tech into their departments.
Case in point: Electric vehicles are no longer just a luxury for the eco-conscious.
As police departments around the world embrace greener tech, the Tesla Cybertruck has found its way into some surprising fleets.
Most recently, in Qatar, where President Donald Trump has been involved in a range of discussions.
Here’s a look at the cities that are already rolling out Cybertruck patrols – and a few more that might be next.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department – Nevada

In February 2025, Las Vegas Metro PD introduced 10 Tesla Cybertrucks to its fleet, marking the largest deployment of such vehicles by a U.S. police department. Funded through a private donation, these trucks are used for SWAT, tactical operations, and regular patrols, with an emphasis on sustainability and cutting-edge tech.
Irvine Police Department – California

Irvine PD became the first U.S. police department to deploy a Tesla Cybertruck for active duty in October 2024. Customized by UP.FIT, the vehicle is primarily used for community outreach and education, particularly in the D.A.R.E. program, but can respond to emergencies if needed.
Greenfield Police Department – California

Teasing their own addition to the Cybertruck club, the Greenfield PD is expected to add a customized Tesla Cybertruck to its fleet soon, rounding out its existing Tesla Model Y patrol cars.
Dubai Police – United Arab Emirates

Dubai is known for its luxury patrol fleet, and the Cybertruck is no exception. The Dubai Police have added a Tesla Cybertruck, primarily for public relations and community engagement, keeping the city’s futuristic image intact.
Departments Considering Cybertrucks: Rosenberg Police Department – Texas

Rosenberg PD is eyeing the Cybertruck for its fleet, actively seeking input from Elon Musk on its potential as a police vehicle.
Ontario Provincial Police – Canada

The OPP has floated the idea of integrating Cybertrucks into its fleet, sharing mock-ups and testing public interest in the idea.
Branson Police Department – Missouri

Branson PD has reportedly set aside funds for a fleet of Tesla Cybertrucks, betting on the electric truck’s durability and high-tech features.
From the neon-lit streets of Las Vegas to the desert highways of Dubai, the Tesla Cybertruck is carving a new path in modern law enforcement. As more departments consider making the switch, it’s clear the future of policing might just be electric.
