Super Bowl LIX will be held on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2025. The match will be between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles.
With Kendrick Lamar headlining the halftime show and AI companies preparing their Super Bowl commercials for the ad breaks, this year’s Big Game has a lot of excitement. With that energy comes millions of dollars in bets, the Super Bowl markets on the top prediction market Kalshi, amount to over $6 million.
Not only are people betting on the game itself and the halftime show, but Kalshi bettors are also predicting who will attend the game. Given that it’s the most-watched television broadcast every year, viewers are always curious about who they will spot in the stands.
Here are some of the potential Super Bowl guests.
Taylor Swift and Jason Kelce
If you didn’t know, Taylor Swift is dating Travis Kelce, the tight end for the Chiefs. Since one of the teams at the Super Bowl is the Chiefs and this is the biggest night in American football, Swift will undoubtedly be there.
Swift and Kelce have been dating since 2023 and Swift has impacted Kelce’s and the Chiefs’ visibility. Her influence has been influential enough that New York Times dedicated an entire article about Swift’s effect on this.
While Kelce didn’t join Swift at the Grammys thanks to prep for the Big Game, his brother Jason Kelce confirmed that he and Taylor will be there.
Donald Trump and friends
President Donald Trump has had a tumultuous relationship with the NFL over the years. After former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick kneeled during the national anthem, Trump publicly criticized Kaepernick.
Two dozen NFL players continue to kneel during the National Anthem, showing total disrespect to our Flag & Country. No leadership in NFL!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 23, 2017
At the time, he also criticized the NFL for making the game too soft.
They had that last week. I watched for a couple of minutes. Two guys, just really, beautiful tackle. Boom, 15 yards. The referee gets on television, his wife is sitting at home, she’s so proud of him – they’re ruining the game. Right? They’re ruining the game. They’re ruining the game. That’s what they want to do. They want to hit. They want to hit. It is hurting the game.
Even now, Trump’s political decisions have ramifications on the NFL. In the past couple of weeks, Trump has signed an executive order ending Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives. In response, a slew of companies have also terminated their DEI programs.
Potentially in response to this, the NFL will be changing what is written in the end zones. Since 2021, “End Racism” has been displayed but they are changing this to “Choose Love” and “It Takes All of Us.”
And now, Trump has officially announced he will be attending the Super Bowl. This will be the first sitting president to ever attend the Super Bowl.
But with Trump confirmed, many wonder if JD Vance and Elon Musk will attend the game as well? So far, only House Speaker Mike Johnson and Homeland Security Security Secretary Kristi Noem have been confirmed.
Musk has attended twice before at Super Bowl LVII along with Rupert Murdoch and Super Bowl LVIII with his son X AE A-Xii. He seems to be a trusted advisor of Trump at this point and may attend with Trump.
However, Vance may be a different story. With Trump attending being a huge security risk, having the Vice President there as well may not be the best decision. So far, there are no confirmations whether he will be attending or not.
With Taylor Swift and Jason Kelce confirmed, and Trump making history as the first sitting president to attend, all eyes will be on the stands as much as the field.
