This week’s Netflix Top 10 U.S. list is getting shaken up. After three weeks, Adolescence was finally dethroned by Gone Girls: The Long Island Serial Killer on the TV chart last week. The releases of Bad Influence: The Dark Side of Kidfluencing and Black Mirror: Season 7 are dominating this week’s trading interest.
For movies last week, The Life List and One of Them Days competed for the top spot in a tight race. This week, One of Them Days is riding a roller-coaster on the Kalshi trading market, now rivaling The Croods.
On the top prediction market platform, Kalshi, traders are swayed by the daily charts. In a matter of days, One of Them Days went from 1% to 90% and back to 50%.
Netflix publicly releases the weekly charts on Tuesday, which is what determines which show and movie resolves to ‘Yes’ for the previous week ending Sunday. But in the week leading up, all predictions are based on the daily charts. Netflix calculates the top projects by dividing the show’s viewing hours by its runtime, which is especially important for TV series because runtimes can vary drastically.
If you plan on betting on Netflix’s top 10 shows and movies markets, these are the projects you should keep your eye on. As always, it’s also good to know what happened last week, for context.

Top US Netflix TV show this week?
This week, the older shows are sliding as news ones compete for the top spot. The three old shows, Gone Girls: The Long Island Serial Killer, Adolescence and Pulse, have dropped out of contention heading into the weekend, according to Kalshi markets.
Meanwhile, Bad Influence: The Dark Side of Kidfluencing and Black Mirror: Season 7, are the frontrunners to capture No. 1 by the end of the weekend. Bad Influence is the current favorite at time of writing after Black Mirror dominated throughout the week.
Adolescence finally dethroned
Adolescence has been dethroned after three weeks at the top of the charts by the crime documentary Gone Girls: The Long Island Serial Killer. Despite being four weeks old, Adolescence was still able to land the runner-up position.
The show continues to encourage conversation globally and has risen to the top of Netflix’s all-time English chart to reach the No. 4 most-watched spot. Netflix has also made Adolescence available to watch for free to all UK secondary school students. This kind of news can reverberate and fuel conversations and viewership numbers in the United States.
Despite this, Adolescence will likely not be able to rise to the top with last week’s significant drop in viewership. It was viewed about 11 million times globally and will likely continue to decrease in the U.S.-exclusive chart. On the first day of the U.S. charts this week, it fell to the No. 7 spot.
NEW: From today we are making Adolescence available to all secondary schools across the UK through Into Film+.

Additionally, healthy relationships charity Tender will produce guides and resources for teachers, parents and carers to help navigate conversations around the series.
Bad Influence: The Dark Side of Kidfluencing
- Release Date: Wednesday, April 9, 2025
- Runtime: 3 episodes — 45-52 minutes
This new docuseries follows the dark side of kid influencers. The episodes primarily examine abuse allegations against momager Tiffany Smith and her daughter, popular young content creator Piper Rockelle.
This kind of controversial topic can help the series get attention and views. An advantage that this series has over other projects is its short run time. With only three episodes, the higher viewing numbers will help it rank higher. All the factors have come together to make this the leading contender as of Friday.
Black Mirror (Season 7)
- Release Date: Thursday, April 10, 2025
- Runtime: 6 episodes — possibly between 40 and 90 minutes
When the previous season of Black Mirror premiered, it was the No. 1 show on Netflix during its first week, with more than 23 million hours watched. Many largely expect the seventh season to also skyrocket to the top of the list.
This season’s cast is as star-studded as ever, including celebs like Rashida Jones, Issa Rae, Awkwafina, Tracee Ellis Ross, Paul Giamatti, Will Poulter, and so many others. With a strong reputation for powerful and mind-bending stories and a popular cast, the series will put up a good fight for the top spot.
However, Black Mirror will have to overcome two factors. First, Netflix determines its rankings by dividing the total number of viewers by the runtime. A significantly longer runtime can make it much more difficult to take the top spot.
And it will have to compete with a trending new show about kid influencers.
Gone Girls
Gone Girls: The Long Island Serial Killer was able to get the No. 1 spot, with plenty of media coverage on the true crime story it documents. While the show was plenty popular last week, on the first day of this week, it dropped to the No. 4 spot below Netflix’s first American medical drama Pulse.
Pulse
While Pulse was lower than the two other projects last week, at the start of this week, it was at the No. 3 spot. On Tuesday, it went up to the No. 1 spot. It has since dropped in the rankings with new titles appearing.
Kill Tony: Kill or Be Killed
- Release Date: Monday, April 7, 2025
- Runtime: 1 episode — 131 minutes
Kill Tony: Kill or Be Killed arrived on Netflix on Monday, which gives it the advantage of arriving before other new arrivals. This is the first of three comedy specials that have been planned.
These specials have been met with plenty of backlash after Tony Hinchcliffe called Puerto Rico a “floating island of garbage” at a Trump rally last year. Netflix’s co-CEO, Ted Sarandos, has stood by his decision to provide Hinchcliffe with a platform and believes it is a matter of free speech.
Similar to Dave Chappelle‘s controversial comedy specials, the controversy will drive viewers to the Kill Tony special. Regardless of whether you agree with Hinchcliffe getting this platform, many may want to watch it to enjoy or judge it. The fear of missing out on a conversation is strong.
On its release date, it was the No. 2 project of the day, only runner-up to WWE, which is always first on Mondays due to their event taking place that day. On Tuesday, it was still at No. 2 below Pulse. Other projects have risen above this one through the week, however.

Top US Netflix movie this week?
This week’s Netflix’s Top 10 movies market is moving fast with an older movie and a new release competing for No. 1.
The Life List & One of Them Days
The Life List and One of Them Days were the top two movies on Netflix’s chart last week. As mentioned previously, many new projects are being added this week. And while none of them had big expectations, the release of The Croods is shaking up the market.
Throughout last week, The Life List and One of Them Days traded the number one spot in a tight competition. This week, going into the weekend, The Croods is rivaling One of Them Days for the top spot at Kalshi.
