Netflix Top Ten Week of April 14
Listen to this article now

It’s a new week, and that means new content on Netflix. With billions of dollars spent on content, Netflix constantly adds projects to its library and as a result, the top 10 leaderboards fluctuate throughout the week.

A certain win at the beginning of the week becomes a runner-up or worse by the end of it. Looking at the top prediction market platform, Kalshi’s Netflix Top 10 markets, you will see that the odds shift frequently.

Last week, Black Mirror (Season 7) was an early favorite, but its odds plummeted after Bad Influence: The Dark Side of Kidfluencing took the lead in the daily charts. This week, there are new additions, which means new competition.

Keep an eye out for the weekly charts every Tuesday. And remember, Netflix calculates the charts not by most views but by hours of views divided by the project’s runtime.

This is what you should know about Kalshi’s Netflix Top 10 markets before trading on them this week.

Top US Netflix TV show this week

With Adolescence dethroned two weeks ago, last week’s top 10 looked different. Four new additions were in the top 10.

This week, several competitors may shift the charts – the final season of Young Sheldon, Ransom Canyon, The Glass Dome, Project UFO, and The Diamond Heist. However, last week’s competitors are likely to put up a fight.

Bad Influence: The Dark Side of Kidfluencing

On Tuesday, WWE Raw was No. 1, but this is typical because the event was on Monday, and this project is first on most of the Tuesday daily charts. The more interesting options are Black Mirror and Bad Influence: The Dark Side of Kidfluencing, which may still be fighting for the top spot.

However, Bad Influence: The Dark Side of Kidfluencing will continue to have the advantage of having a very short runtime of 152 minutes.

Several new competitors have potential. Here’s a look at some of the top projects for the week.

Ransom Canyon

  • Release Date: Thursday, April 17, 2025
  • Runtime: 10 episodes — about 60 minutes each

Ransom Canyon is Netflix’s attempt to capitalize on the attention the popular neo-Western show Yellowstone received. It also mixes in the romance of Netflix shows like Virgin River and Sweet Magnolias

It could perform well if the show can capture the audiences of both Western lovers and romance fans. However, with a runtime longer than both Black Mirror and Bad Influence: The Dark Side of Kidfluencing, it may be difficult.

Young Sheldon

  • Release Date: Tuesday, April 15, 2025
  • Runtime: 14 episodes — about 18-22 minutes each

Young Sheldon earned 88 million views on Netflix when it debuted last year. With the spinoff show currently airing and performing well, the hype may not have died down.

Fans of the earlier seasons may be waiting for the final season to drop on Netflix, which could lead to the show rising in the ranks. However, because the project is not new, it might not get the same attention as other new Netflix Originals.

The Glass Dome

  • Release Date: Tuesday, April 15, 2025
  • Runtime: 6 episodes — about 42-50 minutes each

The Glass Dome is a Nordic Netflix Original crime-limited series. It’s a new show about the same length as Black Mirror, if not a bit shorter.

If it gets the attention, it could gain traction on the charts. However, international shows have difficulty charting at the top. They have been successful and charted somewhere on the leaderboard but rarely, if ever, reach the top. Squid Game is the most significant exception to this.

Project UFO

  • Release Date: Wednesday, April 16, 2025
  • Runtime: 6 episodes — N/A

Project UFO is a new Polish show that is coming to Netflix. Polish projects have a notable history on Netflix, including the popular film 365 and the show Sexify.

While Sexify performed well, with Top 10 entries in 80 countries, it did not hit No. 1 in the U.S. This lack of past Polish number ones on the TV charts makes it less likely that Project UFO will become the first.

The Diamond Heist

  • Release Date: Wednesday, April 16, 2025
  • Runtime: 3 episodes — N/A

After Guy Ritchie’s Netflix success with The Gentleman, he is back with his executive-produced docu-series The Diamond Heist. This British series follows one of the biggest attempted heists of the 21st century.

The series has only three episodes and can follow in the footsteps of the No. 1 show, Gone Girls: The Long Island Serial Killer, which also had three episodes. Although the subject differs, it can grab fans of action heists and docuseries.

There are five new movies, which may have a chance of conquering the chart this week.

Life or Something Like It (2002)

  • Release Date: Sunday, April 13, 2025
  • Runtime: 103 minutes

Life or Something Like It is a 2002 romantic comedy starring Angelina Jolie and Edward Burns. From Apr. 14 to Apr. 15, it jumped from the sixth to the first spot. But it’s unclear if it will be able to maintain its top spot.

The Room Next Door (2024)

  • Release Date: Saturday, April 19, 2025
  • Runtime: 107  minutes

The Room Next Door stars Tilda Swinton and Julianne Moore and is being put on Netflix only 18 months after its theatrical release. However, given its late-in-the-week release date of Saturday, it is unlikely to chart highly.

Oklahoma City Bombing: American Terror (2025)

  • Release Date: Friday, April 18, 2025
  • Runtime: N/A

Similar to The Diamond Heist and Gone Girls: The Long Island Serial Killer, documentaries can perform well on Netflix. With the event’s 30th anniversary approaching, this film could catch an audience that wants to learn more about a tragedy in American history.

Although its Friday release date may hurt its ranking, with enough traction, it can still have a chance.

Behind the Curtain: Stranger Things: The First Shadow (2025)

  • Release Date: Tuesday, April 15, 2025
  • Runtime: 85 minutes

Stranger Things: The First Shadow is a prequel play that expands on the Stranger Things universe. It opened on the West End in London in 2023 and is now opening on Broadway.

Behind the Curtain: Stranger Things: The First Shadow is a behind-the-scenes and making-of look at the play. Fans who are craving Stranger Things content may gravitate to this film. However, a behind-the-scenes movie of a play most people haven’t seen may not be too attractive to a larger audience.

If you’re trading on these markets throughout the week, grab some popcorn and enjoy the ride.
