Celebrities have long complained about the awful pictures and gossip-ridden stories, but they still continue to be as popular as ever. Now, there’s a new platform for these tabloid stories: prediction markets.
Top prediction markets like Kalshi and Polymarket are creating markets on these exact same stories: celebrity divorce, pregnancy, engagements, and so on. Millions of dollars are being bet on the veracity of rumors, including the successes and failures of these stars.
That includes the status of Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, currently married, and whether singer/actress Selene Gomez will walk down the aisle this year.
Ryan Reynolds & Blake Lively divorce in 2025?
Blake Lively has been in the news for all the wrong reasons, receiving a large amount of backlash after her poorly received media tour of her movie, It Ends with Us.
The film is about domestic violence, but Lively was often promoting the film in an upbeat and careless manner. Her co-star and the director of the movie, Justin Baldoni, was not part of the film’s promotion.
While Lively advertised her alcohol and hair care brands and flippantly spoke about the serious topics discussed in the movie, Baldoni was not even pictured at the movie’s premiere with the rest of the cast. Public opinion turned against Lively during the duration of the press tour.
Afterward, Lively filed a complaint with the California Civil Rights Department against Baldoni for creating a hostile work environment. She claimed that Baldoni hired a PR team to create a smear campaign against Lively after she accused him of making her feel unsafe at work.
Since then, there have been lawsuits from both parties. This controversy has covered the tabloids and tainted both of the actors’ reputations. As a result, many wonder if this will lead to the divorce of the once-beloved Hollywood couple, Ryan Reynolds & Lively.
However, Reynolds seems tied to these cases, and both Lively and Reynolds even requested a gag order against Baldoni’s lawyer. Importantly, this isn’t a new couple. They share four kids and have been married since 2012.
Many tabloids have speculated that the controversy is causing a rift in their relationship.

This is exactly why it isn’t too surprising that Polymarket bettors are predicting whether or not Gomez , who is now in a new relationship, will get married in 2025.
In December of last year, Gomez announced her engagement to mega-producer Benny Blanco. After they started dating in 2023, got engaged in 2024, and announced a joint album for March 21, 2025, many predict the next logical step is a wedding this year.
